Xbox 360 Live Down for How Long?????

For the past month and a half Microsoft has been fixing the Xbox Live for their Xbox 360. They have been making these fixes to Live so that when the backwards compatibility for the Xbox One(which allows gamers to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. which you were unable to do before.) comes out it will allow it to run smoothly. One of the other reasons Microsoft is fixing it now instead of later is because and I quote a customer service employe stated when I called customer support  "We are fixing the Live for the 360 so that it runs better and more smoothly when the Backwards Compatibility For the Xbox One works and so we aren't doing it during the most hectic and part of the year." My next question was "When will the servers for live be back up? Did they give you any information to when it be back up?" the response was not very good. "I have not been given a time frame to when it will be back up as we continue to receive calls from around the world with the same concerns as you."I had one more question "Since I have a gold membership which allows me to download free games from Live what will happen to the free game for the month when the month passes." He said "There is nothing I can do as the contract with the corporation that allows the download gives us a specific amount of time to allow you the customer to download for free. When that time expires there is nothing we can do." I thanked him for his time and hung up. So as far as I know Xbox 360 will be down for quiet a bit as they have no idea when servers will be back up
